Great quality, uneven ride height with DSG
Great quality as always from H&R. The ride is great, considering they're a sport spring. I have them paired with the stock struts and shocks for now, so they are underdamped, but still ride well. The front sits lower than the back on the DSG GTI. If that bothers you, I'd look elsewhere. Manual GTIs seem to not have this issue. Body roll and dive/squat are greatly reduced. Install is easy if you've done suspension work before. An alignment is a must because these springs definitely lower the car more than the advertised 1.3". The additional camber and toe were very noticable. I installed the Whiteline roll center correction kit at the same time and glad I did.
Best springs ever
These are the best lowering springs you can get. Rides really good. Eliminates wheel gap. Eliminates most body roll. Can be mistaken for coilovers. They are stiffer than stock springs.
Lowers without going too extreme!
Loving these springs so far! They lower the car enough to make it look good without making you flinch if you see a bump. I also barely noticed any difference in ride quality. DIY install was doable, not for people who have not worked on cars or wrenching before!
Best around
I was on the fence between these and the VWR and I'm happy with my choice. Been on the car for about 4k miles and no creaking or noises so far. Ride is a little more stiff but knew this going into it over the other option. Love the springs and they settle great, definitely want an alignment afterwards though!
Great lowering option
These springs are great. The install was simple after using the 2x4 method, and noticed an immediate drop (almost 2") in the rear. The front needed a couple loops around my neighborhood (1.25") before settling. You will need to get an alignment for sure as it gives the car a noticeable amount of camber. The ride with these springs is better than stock in my option. When you run over a bump it gives a much more positive stiff feeling and the car doesn't bounce multiple times. Its a simple up and down. The only downfall I can see is that the install was tedious until we used the 2x4 method. I highly suggest using it. Also make sure to disconnect the headlight leveler on the rear lower control arm.
