Beast!
This clutch is fantastic once DKM was able to iron out the throw out bearing issues they had in some early kits. Stage 2 APR right now and have no reservations this will hold whatever power is thrown at it. Can't beat it for the price point comparing the specs to SouthBend and others. Ended up doing almost 1000 mile break in period. I have BFI Stage 1 motor/trans mounts and the slight chatter at idle doesn't bother me at all. more noticeable at idle if AC is on. Clutch softens up quite a bit after putting on some miles. I didn't do the installation myself and had it done at a reputable shop in PA. Only took the tech 4 hours to do the install.
Go Big or Go Home
Stock clutch started slipping, no tune, just catback exhaust...IKR. Decided to get the clutch due to the rave and good reviews about this clutch. Received my clutch 1 day before deliver date. If you have solid mounts, you will have slight chatter regardless, slightly goes away once broken in. Only took 300 miles to break in my clutch, clutch is a work out during break in period, clutch catches where stock clutch would be "high up". Hands down, get it this clutch worth every penny. Took me and a buddy about 7-8 hrs to install, no we didnt use a hoist, just jack stands. 100% GET IT NOW.
100% Worth the Wait
Ordered this clutch back in April and received early June. Long, agonizing waits are guaranteed because the popularity that DKM is gaining -- but it is well worth it and the popularity is warranted. The clutch pedal is crazy stiff at first (as expected), but after about 500 miles it loosens up to roughly 50% stiffer than stock. For me, the engagement point remains about the same (towards the top of the pedal). Despite it being a SMF, chatter is at a bare minimum, literally. I can only hear MILD chatter when at idle with the AC on, or when I'm pulling away in first and there's a barrier or something next to me. If you're worried about sound, you'll be 100% happy with this clutch. Now that I'm finally through the break in period, I can get a true feel for how it responds under load... and it grabs like a MF'er. Seriously, this thing is a beast. I have no concerns with throwing anything and everything at it. Only 'issue' I'm having right now is driving off from first -- it can be a little on the rough and stuttering side. I think this is more of a learning curve than anything though, since I get a great take-off from 1st like 60% of the time right now. So yes, for the price this is absolutely the best clutch you can buy. It will hold up to 660lbs of torque, and thanks to its twin-disk design it should have a long lifespan. Get this clutch, even though it's on backorder -- it is well worth the wait. -Dane
