Description
The Forge Motorsport Turbo Blankets are designed to isolate the radiant heat produced by your turbocharger. This design was created by the Forge development team on the Forge VW Golf MK1 Race car in the harshest of environments and exceeds all expectations. The Forge turbo blanket is designed to assist in the protection and prolonging of your engine components. The unique design will assist in reducing turbo lag, and produce cooler air intake temperatures,
The Forge turbo blanket will lose its flexibility over the first few heat cycles as the material cures, so once fitted it should not be routinely removed as you will likely damage the blanket.
Design innovation keeps the heat of the exhaust gases contained within the hot side of the turbocharger, away from the cool side and the intake path. More oxygen per unit volume reaches the engine, therefore giving more power.

Keeps the temps cool and while I was at it I also wrapped my down pipe and it got significantly lower engine bay temps..
Amazing product
Purchased the turbo blanket and installed it right away..definitely took some time to install. But I gotta say definitely a change..highly recommended..
Pain to install but worth it now
Really. A pain to install and make sure you wear hand protection from the fiberglass. But now my engine bay temps have dropped significantly. Just by touching the air box and inlet pipe before and after the install it's a very very noticeable difference
Keeps the bay cool
I purchased this so I could remove the oem heat shield after installing my down pipe and to reduce engine temps after installing an intake block off plate which reduced engine bay air. It has managed to reduce temps in engine bay to lower than the oem design (which I was not expecting). Definitely recommend if this is your goal. I dis not notice any performance gains.
Good quality but...
I drive a Mk7.5 R. I’m not seeing the noticeable gains and/or throttle response the other reviewers mention. I suspect those folks are exagerating. However, I do see lower engine bay temps after my drive home from work - which is why I ordered the product. Installation is a pain and the spring clips provided didn’t stay in place very well so we used some wire to secure the blanket flaps together. I also think it’s important to mention that placement and fitment are incredibly important when installing as a bad/loose fit could interfere with the turbo’s actuator. If you’re not confident, let a mechanic do it.
